Children's Ministry
Elsmere Presbyterian Church welcomes all children!
Sunday School
Sunday School is offered during our worship service for all children from age 1 through high school with classes organized by age and grade. It is our hope that through our children's ministry, your child will learn to live knowing that God is with them always. We hope to help them to grow in their love of Jesus and to expand their knowledge of His teachings and how it applies to their lives. We use "Hands-On Bible Curriculum", which helps our teachers to teach the way Jesus did; by using everyday objects. Time after time kids are able to remember what they learned, since they experience first hand what they are learning. At Elsmere, we work to cultivate a family type relationship with our children so that they may fully understand what it means to be a part of God's family.
Nursery
Care for infants and toddlers up to age 3 are welcome to spend a fun time playing and interacting in our nursery during the worship service. Our nursery is located on the same level as our sanctuary just outside the double doors leading to the fellowship hall. Please ask an usher if you would like more information or need help finding the nursery.
Prayer Shawl Ministries
What is The Prayer Shawl Ministry?
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is one way to reach out in Christian love for those in need of special blessings. Prayer is key throughout the process: as each shawl is created, we ask God to bless the one who will receive it. This ministry is done to glorify God and its focus is on the Lord’s work in our lives.
Who receives the Prayer Shawl?
A shawl may be given to offer comfort and solace. For example, one may be presented to someone who is seriously ill or receiving medical treatments dealing with the loss of a loved one or adjusting to a care facility.
How can I participate?
Make a shawl at home to be given to someone in time of need. Shawls may be knitted or crocheted, and can be made in various colors and patterns. We seek your prayers for this ministry, for those who make the shawls, and their recipients. Yarn and monetary donations also will be gratefully accepted.
Please contact the church office if you know someone who would be comforted by one of these prayer shawls, 302-998-6365.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."
